Salher : Maharashtra's Second highest peak and Highest altitude fort (5140 feet)

Mulher: one of the finest forts i've ever seen (abt 4200 feet)

yes, this time my plans for the trek didn't fail!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

a big achievement in itself

i had been to Salher Mulher this weekend and had all the fun, enjoyment, mental relaxation
and of course, much needed overnight trek

the trek , my passion, and that too on the day of "no moon day" when thousands of stars shine in the coal black sky, when the weather is "just perfect" to have late night "gappa" in open sky with the company of typical chilli cold breeze blowing and the stars twinkling all acros the skies

taar aasa maza trek faar chaan zala

here is a brief report of same:

friday night 27th Jan ratri 11.00 Sion Station
Sat 28th Jan 00.15 am Bus nighali

Sat 10 am started journey towards Salher
since we were 40, obviously, we were split into groups

and was at the top of Salher peak (5140 feet) when had a telephone call with tantya
then we started our journey back to the Salher gaon

we were back at the Salher gaon by 5 pm
we had a lot of timepass in between because we were in the aaghadichi phali and had no contact with the magachi/ pichadichi phali so we waited for them for almost 1.5 hr still couldn't see them
then finally we descended to gaon and waited for the last group to come which was at the base at 7 pm

That's great...the forts of Salher-Mulher are famous for the battles for their possesion fought between the moghuls and the marathas in 1673. Their speciality is that these battles were won by the marathas by sheer power on open battlefields. They didn't need to use the famous "Ganimi Kawa" as they had become a really strong force by then!
